The Unseen Connection After Abortion: The Truth Written in Our Cells
I was reading the last published annual report from a major abortion provider and in bright letters, I read the following quote:
“I still think about my abortion and who I would be without the resources of…”
The words that caught my eye were the first six “I still think about my abortion”. That is a clear admission that thoughts of an abortion good or bad stay with you.
Personally, I don’t know of any women who have left their abortion(s) behind them. To be fair, I work with abortion wounded women and don’t have much contact with those who would say abortion didn’t affect them. I’m sure those women exist but I certainly wasn’t one of them. I carried my abortion with me everywhere I went. I secretly cringed on every abortion anniversary date and grieved on every birthday.
Even if the post-abortive woman claims to be unaffected by her abortion(s) did you know that there is a cellular connection between the mother and child. It’s a biological phenomenon known as microchimerism.
Microchimerism means every mother has a biological connection with every child created in her womb at a cellular level until she dies. This cellular situation was discovered when researchers found male DNA in a woman who had never given birth. In questioning this woman after the Y chromosomes were discovered in her brain, they learned she had aborted a child. Researchers theorized that her aborted child must have been a boy and that some of his DNA remained in her body. Cells of unborn children remain in the bodies of their mothers – whether they are aborted or brought to birth. https://www.prcco.org/biological-impacts-abortion/
We are fearfully and wonderfully made.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
Psalms 139:14
Unbeknownst to the vast majority of post-abortive women, she carries within her cells from her unborn child(ren) for the rest of her life. Sure we can say abortion didn’t affect us, but our body knows. When the soul, which is our mind, will, and emotions determine to not be affected or decide to not remember, our physical body does. Our physical body knows, our spirit knows. No wonder there are so many abortion wounded women walking this planet.
The Lord is near to the broken-hearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
For over two decades I carried my abortion with me. I had taken it to God and He had forgiven me but I was still hurting and in desperate need of healing. When I went through my abortion recovery journey God changed my life. I was finally freed from the burden I carried. Free to a new life in Him, and free to walk in all the plans and purposes He wrote for me before I was born.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
